Research Requests and Related Fees (see Request Form below)
The volunteer research staff of the RCGS Library perform research on a first-come, first-serve basis, with preference given to Society members. All research is conducted on an hourly fee basis plus copy costs, and the revenues are used to support the nonprofit mission of the Rock County Genealogical Society (preservation, education, publication and research). By providing information on your research project and clicking the SUBMIT button, below, you agree to pay for research by the Library staff ($25 per hour for individuals and nonprofit organizations, or $50 per hour for businesses) with a two-hour minimum. Photocopies or scanned image of text document cost $1 per page ($0.50 for members) is additional. Separate cost apply to high resolution scanned images of photographs and to professional reproduction or enlargement of photographs.
Agreement to Pay for Services
When RCGS staff look into your ancestor(s), they may discover a great deal of new information, or they may also find that your ancestor left little or no trace. When you contract with us for research, you are purchasing the time and experience of diligent genealogists and historians, and you agree to pay for these services regardless of research outcome. Payment is due prior to delivery.
