Why do I need a password?

​To provide extra value to RCGS members, our web site includes a “Members-Only” menu with links to password protected genealogy content available only to current RCGS members. To gain access, you’ll be asked for a password when you first click on a Members-Only link.

Where do I get a password?

SOCIETY MEMBERS
The current password is found in the cover email of the most recent Society newsletter. Each quarter, new content is added, and the password is updated via newsletter in the first few days of January, April, July, and October.
NON-MEMBERS
If you're not a member of the Rock County Genealogical Society, you can join here, or read more about all the ​benefits of membership. Once you join, we'll mail you the most recent member newsletter with your password.

My old password isn't working - What now?

Passwords change quarterly around the first day of each quarter. We try to time the online password update just as members receive each issue of the Society Newsletter with the new password. Some members receive their newsletter quickly by email, while others get it a few days later by "snail mail." If you have password difficulty around the time of the quarterly password change, you can contact us to see if your membership dues are current and receive the password by email upon joining or renewing here.

What if I've lost or forgotten my password?

If you're a current member who's forgotten this quarter's password, check the email that came with the most recent issue of your RCGS Newsletter, or you can call the RCGS Library during office hours  (see the RCGS contact information and office hours at the bottom of this page). You must be on the current member roster to obtain a password over the phone.
