WHAT'S A WEBINAR?
Beginning in 2017, the Rock County Genealogical Society began contracting with educational speakers who offered digital programs. These web-based seminars - or webinars - are broadcast "live" via the Internet and typically include an audio feed of the speaker's voice overlaid on a slideshow. People may watch these webinar presentations in one of three ways:
In some case, RCGS speakers used PowerPoint Presentations at the membership meeting. When allowed by the speaker, RCGS provides access to a text version of the PowerPoint slide show which preserves the live links to underlying web sites which illustrate the presentation. Examples appear below.

- Live group presentation at the RCGS Membership meeting projected onto a large screen
- Live presentation from one's home PC using the seminar registration link on RCGS's Speakers & Events web page.
- Recorded presentation (a video file) here
