PROGRAM: How Joining Lineage or Heritage Societies can Improve Research Skills
PROGRAM PRESENTER: Ruth Anderson is a UW-W music education graduate born & raised on a small Rock County dairy farm. She has been studying genealogy for 40+ years. For many years her goal has been to put family history into historical context. As a member of many heritage and lineage societies, she has completed applications for over a hundred ancestors for herself and others. She has volunteered for the Rock County Genealogical Society for over 22 years, and has had the privilege of helping patrons find definitive records.
PROGRAM SUMMARY: Ruth explains how application for membership in one or more heritage or Lineage Society, Like the DAR or the Sons of Veterans of the Civil War, can add rigor to your research skills and open new avenues of investigation from within the files of these societies' past applicants.
